In tarot, court cards are Pages, Knights, Queens, and Kings, each symbolizing personality traits and behavior. Interpretation of these cards in terms of shadow work reveals hidden traits, unconscious behaviors, or even a battle within you against your shadow self, the parts that you mostly repress or deny.

Pages

Pages represent youth, curiosity, and learning. While they can indicate immaturity in shadow work, a reversed or negatively aspected Page can show where you avoid responsibility, hide your fear for stepping into your full potential, or are insecure. Shadow work related to the Page of Swords may include issues with communication or impulsive decisions based on repressed fear or anxiety.

Knights

The Knights are a very action-oriented set, so they represent drive and ambition. However, in shadow work, a reversed Knight can indicate impulses, being reckless or unbalanced in your pursuit of desires. When a Knight of Wands emerges as part of the shadow, it's likely to reveal tendencies of impatience, acting first without thinking, or burning out from overzealousness and other such acts of recklessness. Such patterns can be recognized and brings forward deeper fears of failure or stagnation.

Queens

The Queens represent power on an emotional or creative level but the shadow side can represent suppressed emotions or overcontrol. When working with the shadow, the Queen of Cups can bring out where you hide your emotions so you will not be vulnerable and cannot be too close to others. An upside-down Queen of Pentacles may represent materialism or failure to pay attention to oneself in the pursuit of stability as a form of hiding insecurity.

Kings

Kings are representations of power, leadership, and mastery. In shadow work, a reversed King can represent domination, haughtiness, or rigidity; for example, the King of Swords may present a person who is too reliant on logic and perceives emotions as a weakness or perhaps fears emotional weakness.

This practice helps bring light to hidden parts of yourself, wheee some shadows that may be taking up residences within you may ideally allows you to start the journey of integrating every single part of you in one whole person and hence, healing.
