5 Essential Rituals for the Full Blood Moon in Sagittarius
5 Essential Rituals for the Full Blood Moon in Sagittarius
Nov 7, 2024 11:40 AM

Are you ready? Are you really ready?

Prepare for take-off because there is a mighty powerful Super Blood Moon coming up, also known as a Lunar eclipse. It will grace our skies on May 26th, so you have a few days to prepare for this.

This includes engaging in a Full Moon ritual, and as this is no ordinary Full Moon. Combined with the fact that this upcoming Full Moon is a Blood Moon (easily recognizable because it is reddish in color) and a Supermoon, you don’t want to waste this energy!

Supermoons tend to be more potent energetically than Full Moons. The Supermoon looks red because the Moon, Sun, and Earth are almost perfectly aligned with one another. It is a time when the Moon is closest to the Earth.

On a spiritual level, it has a lot of significance for us. If you keep track of your life using a Moon diary, you’ll probably notice that unexpected events tend to happen during the Full Moon; it could be a revelation of something, something shocking in your relationships, a change in direction for you.

Anything can happen during the Full Moon.

During a Blood Moon, this energy is even more powerful!

Preparing for the Blood Moon

The Blood Moon signifies a time of new beginnings, endings, and clean slates. It’s during the energy of this Moon that we tie up any loose ends and prepare for a new journey.

But what does it mean when it’s in the sign of Sagittarius?

As a Mutable Fire sign, Sagittarius is concerned with adventure, learning, telling new stories, and living for the moment. Therefore, it is entirely possible that during this Supermoon, you will desire brand new experiences that go against your usual routine.

Sagittarius is also an honest sign, so don’t be surprised if you end up spilling your feelings out. This could either make or break a relationship, cause you to leave a job, or drive you to reveal how you feel about someone (which could appear totally out of the blue!)

5 Rituals for This Sagittarius Full Blood Moon

All in all, quite a dramatic time. In short, Sagittarius energy is about freedom. Therefore, the rituals below are designed to help you work with Sagittarius energy during this Blood Moon.

Let’s start with the first one, affirmations!

1. Sagittarius Energy Affirmations

This is an easy one that takes minimal time but can have a powerful effect. When trying to channel the energy of this lunar event, we must put in the first bits of effort to spark the change we desire. Get your goals or inspiration going by creating personalized Sagittarius-infused affirmations.

First, think of a question that inspires you towards change in your daily life. Sagittarian experimental, direct, philosophical, and adventurous energy is best explored here, take that and apply it to your life.

  Some examples of questions are…

What do I need to be more honest about in my life? What areas of my life are boring me, and how can I make a change? What other interests can I explore? What relationships are no longer stimulating me?Then, when you have come up with your question, think of a positive affirmation to counter it.

If, for example, you asked yourself what you need to be more honest about, and you came to the conclusion you should be more honest with yourself about not allowing yourself enough time to relax, your affirmation could be, “I give myself permission to relax more often.”

Or, if you’re asking what other interests you can explore, your affirmation could be, “I am actively expanding my interests and welcoming change.”

There, you have your ritual! Set aside some time for you, and repeat the affirmation to yourself throughout the day under this Blood Moon. You may be surprised at just how easy you find it to relax from thereon!

2. Releasing Toxic Energy Ritual

Blood Moons are linked to releasing what no longer serves us to move forward, and Sagittarian energy allows us to embrace optimism. So depending on who you are, there are a few ways that you can use this energy to release any toxicity lingering around you.

You can release toxic energy by…

Practicing breathwork. Breathe in for 7 seconds and release for 7 seconds. Repeat this several times while visualizing what needs to be released in your life.Writing it down. Write down what is creating or fostering the toxic energy in your life and then burn it or tear it up. This action permits you to release it.

3. Full Moon Nature Bathing

If you can get out among nature, this one is for you! Full Moon nature bathing involves finding a spot among nature – such as the park, woods, or by a river – and just walking under the lunar energies, as it can be done during the day or at night.

What is important is that you are connecting to nature. If it’s nice enough out, try removing your shoes and stepping mindfully in some grass or other terrain.

Sagittarius is a sign of freedom and expansion, so by nature bathing, you are letting your mind, body, and soul roam free as you absorb the lunar rays.

Don’t be surprised if flashes of inspiration occur to you while you are doing this!

4. Supermoon Cord-Cutting Spell

You may have seen the cord-cutting spell trending on sites like Twitter and Tiktok recently due to its personal and intriguing nature. A ritual that requires no witchy background, this “spell” allows you to break off ties to things that are holding you back.

A Supermoon cord-cutting spell is where you speak words to the Universe and request that it helps you cut ties with whatever in your life needs releasing.

Under Sagittarius energy, this helps you to break the chains that bind you. While any color of candle you have on hand works, with Sagittarian energy floating around us, white or blue candles will help us find clarity under this Blood Moon.

You can use the following spell or make up your own:

I ask the Universe and highest good to cut cords in my life with (insert name of person, place, situation, etc.) so that I may achieve my full potential and be free to explore myself and this life without toxic energy holding me back. I ask that anything that is not beneficial for my soul should be released from me to move forward in accordance with the will of my soul.

5. Tea Elixir Supermoon Ritual

For tea lovers, this one is for you!

Here you make yourself a cup of tea. Herbal teas, such as dandelion, burdock, and mugwort, are good, though green and white work just as well.

If you really want to go all-out, go for Chaga tea, which takes an hour to brew on very low heat (and is known as the “King of Mushrooms” by the shamans, who believe it stimulates the pineal gland and helps you connect with yourself at a deeper level).

Once your tea is brewed, find a quiet space where you won’t be disturbed, light a candle and sip your tea. As you sip, close your eyes and think of Sagittarius energy and what it means for you: freedom, expansion, and adventure.

Think about the areas of your life that you need to be more courageous or bolder. Next, think about areas that you feel have become dull and lackluster. Finally, think of interests and topics that you would like to learn about.

Tea leaves (and mushroom tea like Chaga) come directly from the Earth, and when we take them into our bodies, we are helping to connect with the Earth and, by doing so, connect with ourselves.

Let’s Channel the Moon

As the Blood Supermoon in Sagittarius approaches, think of areas of your life that Sagittarius energy affects: adventure, expansion, learning, and teaching. You may find in the build-up to the Supermoon, and these areas are naturally highlighted to your attention.

Pick one, or several, of these rituals to engage in. It is true we can feel the effects of Supermoon energy, even if we don’t engage in a ritual, but a ritual helps us connect even more to the lunar powers, and, as such, we can reap its benefits.

Remember, the Moon isn’t just a light shining down on us on a dark night. It is there to guide us in more ways than one.

The Blood Moon wants to help you become the best of yourself. So let it help you, and you will be amazed by what happens!
