Have you heard about Hermes The Messenger and The Trickster? Better known to us as Mercury, he was the only Olympian able to travel between the land of the living and the land of the dead. In August, he will be busy in the skies.
Hermes (or Mercury) rules trade, short travels, human consciousness, and the logical mind and its cognitive functions such as: perception, interpretation, rational and deductive thinking, learning, speech, and communication. He corresponds to the left side brain, and with the anatomy of hearing.
Thus, you can see how important it is to pay attention to what he’s doing as he influences many of our fundamental human functions!
Let’s explore his role and his journey throughout this month.
Thoughts become bolder and more daring, as well as creative.
Mercury in Leo is able to captivate people with their speech, because it knows when to say the right things at the right time. Expect to feel like you need your message to get out, and to have a more lively way of speaking.
You may feel difficulty in finding words to express your unique thoughts, as they happen so fast in your logical mind that you feel you can’t keep up, so write them down instead.
These thoughts can be “out of the box,” and way ahead of the current time, which may even shock you. This is when the lightbulb moments and insights occur in a flash, and new dendrites are being made in your brain. It’s also when you can feel scattered, anxious, and have bizarre and erratic ideas.

Make the most out of this time by strategizing and formulating a plan of action to turn your ideas into things. It’s a good time to make decisions and to get a lot of work done. Writing, word games, athletics and competition are also favoured.

We will feel a shift as now we are much more thoughtful about what we say. Our logical minds become more analytic and observant, and messages here are more shy than in Leo, but they can also be very precise with their detailed information.
