We’re currently in Taurus season, and we’re under a lot of Taurus energy at the moment. Mercury retrograde ends tomorrow, Jupiter enters Taurus in three days, and we have a New Moon in Taurus in six days.
This can be pleasant energy after all of the high energy, thanks to Aries dominating us for the last two months. We can welcome some of this slower Taurus energy right now!
Make sure to use the astrology calendar to follow the planets each month!
Taurus is also a Fixed sign, and these signs are the ones that don’t like to budge. This is what makes Taurus extra slow, and it wants to connect to the moment and be present after we’ve been going at lightspeed.
The natural ruling planet for Taurus is Venus, and this adds to the slower energy of Taurus as Venus helps Taurus be attractive. Taurus doesn’t necessarily have to go out and get what it wants. Instead, it can let things play out.
Taurus season is traditionally a nice time to relax, indulge, and learn how to chill out. That hasn’t necessarily been the case with this Taurus season, thanks to all of the Aries energy that has prevailed, and we’re likely only just starting to feel this relaxing energy.
Now, Mercury retrograde is about to end on May 14th, 2023, and Mercury has been moving backward through Taurus since April 21st, 2023.
The Mercury retrograde in Taurus may have slowed some developments. This has likely been frustrating as we’ve wanted to jumpstart and get things moving quickly but has had to find other ways or exercise better patience.
With the retrograde ending, we can start to feel the frustration lift and get things moving where we’ve felt stuck. Energy may still be slow, but we can be okay with that.

Then we have Jupiter, who moves into Taurus on May 16th, 2023, and Jupiter will spend the rest of the year in this sign. Jupiter is the planet of expansion, exploration, and new experiences, and ventures into new opportunities.
Jupiter is considered the lucky planet and only wants the best and happiest outcomes, so Jupiter in Taurus is excellent for anything Taurus related. This is great energy for our resources, finances, connection to our bodies and the physical world, and stability and security.
Jupiter can bring opportunities to improve any of this in our lives, and we can get excited by what we pursue. Jupiter joins changemaker Uranus already in Taurus, so these opportunities may come out of left field, be sudden and unexpected, or require an unconventional approach.
We can feel much more open with this, and our confidence can soar thanks to Jupiter. We can also benefit by embracing taking our time with decisions, appreciating every moment, and enjoying the present.
Finally, we have a Taurus New Moon coming on May 19th, 2023, and New Moons are times of new beginnings, enthusiasm, and excitement. This New Moon can help us jumpstart Jupiter in Taurus transit, and we can focus on what we want to embark on to improve stability, security, resources, finances, and confidence.
We’ll be out of the Mercury retrograde, free and clear and ready to move forward, and Jupiter will be fresh in Taurus. It’s the perfect time to take action and set ourselves up for the rest of the year.
